Members of staff joined the directors at Underwood for a thrilling day of paintball. The team did extremely well. It was a fun day enjoyed by all. Three of our team were awarded with certificates.

Grand Designs Features Sporn Construction

Sporn Construction featured in the October issue of the Grand Designs Magazine. Robin Sporn was asked to contribute to an article on “How to find a Builder”. We are extremely proud to have our contribution rewarded with a feature in the final published article.

Robin has since been asked to contribute to a feature relating to 3D design software which should hopefully feature in the December issue of the magazine.

Contract Awarded for Construction Works at Hazel Terrace

Work is programmed to commence within the next 8 weeks on Hazel Terrace located at a prestigious address in Oxford City Centre.  The project involves the restoration and extension of the Victorian Terrace incorporating the construction of a large basement using contiguous piling.

 

Construction Begins at Maple Terrace

Work commenced this month at Maple Terrace. The project involves the restoration and extension of a Victorian Terrace located at a prestigious address in the centre of Oxford.

Progress at Oak House

The renovation and extension of Oak House is three quarters complete. A green oak frame is the basis of the construction of the extension with SIPS panels. The architect for this project is Roderick James Architects, regularly featured on the Grand Designs television programme. The electrical installation is now complete and internal plastering is under way. The property will feature a rain water harvester, photovoltaic and solar panels, and a wood burning cooker and three further wood burning stoves.  Environmental considerations have been very much a priority on this project and we have utilised the very latest modern building techniques to achieve the maximum results.

 

 

 

Progress at Oak Manor

Construction of this new build house is in two phases. Phase 1 is in the early part of the construction process. Steel beams arrived on site this week to allow for the installation of the block and beam first floor.  The phasing of construction is to facilitate our clients remaining in residence at the existing house until phase 1 is complete. The existing house will then be demolished and phase 2 will proceed.

Progress at Acorn Farm

The conversion and renovation of this historic farmhouse is midway through the construction process. Roofing works have now been completed and the first stages of internal carpentry work are progressing well. The soul of the building has been meticulously maintained throughout and a clear historic timeline is evident. The property incorporates vast amounts of original internal timbers which have been beautifully restored by our master craftsman.

The Barn Conversion at Elm Barn is almost complete. Construction has been sympathetic to the original barn, retaining many of its original features, using traditional construction techniques.
